Knut Frostad, CEO, Volvo Ocean Race, reveals to Alec Honey that the first fully-crewed race around the world (Whitbread) in 1973-1974 will be a positive feature for future promotions of the Volvo. Honey is delighted to say that he took part in this first edition as navigator onboard Great Britain 2, winning line-honours! Alec agrees with Knut and aims to return towards history by organising an ocean race around Cape Horn island as a handicap event like the first Whitbread race: but this time with more than just a sextant!
